Course objectives
Students will verify the acquired knowledge of mechanics and molecular physics by practical measurements.
Learning outcomes
The student will be able to explain the nature of the investigated physical phenomenon, perform an experiment with available laboratory aids, evaluate the measurement results and determine the measurement error.

  • 1. Introduction. 2. Measurements of the basics physical quantity. 3. Measurements of the acceleration of the Earth. 4. Moment of inertia. 5. Parallel axis theorem 6. Young's modulus. 7. Shear modulus. 8. Ballistic pendulum. 9. Calorimetric. 10. Thermal conductivity. 11. Liquids viscosity 12. Basic attributes of gases.

Laboratory exercises.
Assessment methods
Credit is awarded for at least 75% participation in seminars, successful completion of two control tests (score at least 60% of the maximum), and elaboration of a seminar paper.
