- Course objectives
- The lectures offer basic information on theory and practice of modern textual criticism, inform about terminology, determination the most valuable witnesses and establishing the initial text.
- Learning outcomes
- The students shall be able to describe:
what is the role of the editor,
the relationship between literary and textual scholarship (criticism).
The students shall be able to characterize:
the main theoretical conceptions using in Czech republic and in other countries.
The students shall be able:
to understand the term "initial text",
to know which type of editions are in existence,
to know what is purpose of writing the commentary. - Syllabus
