Course objectives
The course focuses on the importance of communication in the contemporary world, both in interpersonal relationships and in business, marketing, and presentation.
Learning outcomes
The student will master the basic elements of interpersonal communication in oral, written and telephone communication. The student will be able to name the socio-cultural differences of several major world regions. The student will also be able to structure a monologue and a dialogue.
Syllabus
  • 1. The importance of communication in the contemporary world (sales, advertising, self-presentation, interpersonal/business relations) 2. Development and history of communication (communication as a means of communication (communication as a history of information), icons, indices, symbols 3. Typology of people and their communication styles 4. Practical exercises: communication styles according to the typology of people in practice 5. Verbal skills (arguments, objections, influence, manipulation) 6. Listening 7. Practical exercises. 8. Non-verbal communication 9. Communication in stressful situations 10. Practical exercises: crisis management in communication 11. Intercultural communication 12. Marketing communication (techniques, communication elements, negative advertising) 13. Summary of the semester, discussion, final assessment

oral examination, attendance (75%), active cooperation in the classroom, preparation of practical tasks and projects during the semester; verification of acquired knowledge will be carried out during the semester on the basis of individual and group communication exercises
