Course objectives
The aim of the subject Organization and project management 1 is to theoretically familiarize students with the basics of project management in terms of current world standards and methods in the form of lectures and seminars. Students will be introduced to selected techniques used in project management, will be able to orient themselves in related terminology and will be prepared for further deepening of theoretical knowledge in the field of project management.

Syllabus
  • 1. Project, project management – project, project triangle, project plan, project schedule, project goal. 2. A brief history of project management - the beginnings of project management, rationalization of project management in the 19th century, 20th century, Frederick Taylor, current project management standards, PMBOK, IPMA, ISO 10006, PRINCE2, certification system for project managers. 3. Project life cycle – initiation (Project initiation, feasibility study, opportunity study, project objectives, project scope, milestones), planning (build the project team, project schedule, project management plan, resource utilization planning, budget planning), implementation (management quality and change management, project monitoring and reporting methods, monitoring) and project termination (handover and acceptance of the project, final evaluation). 4. Analysis and visualization of project management - Gantt chart, critical path of the project, multiple critical path of the project, PERT analysis, WBS - Work Breakdown Structure, Pareto's rule.
