- Course objectives
- The subject "Compulsory practice II" is the middle part of a three-part series of practice subjects and follows on from the subject "Compulsory practice I". Given that it should normally take place in the winter semester, attention should also be paid to the weather primarily to those activities of the cycle of professional field archeology that do not take place directly in the open air such as conservation of finds and preparation of samples for expertise, collection conservation, storage of finds and creation of depositories, collection records, but also records of archaeological monuments and research (State Archaeological List, Archaeological Map of the Czech Republic and their fulfillment, archives of discovery reports). It would be optimal if it could take place on the basis of field results activities in which students participated in the subject "Compulsory practice I". A smaller part could then also take place directly on rescue research; at present, some are also implemented in the winter period, which the climatic conditions bring certain specifics. The place and time of practice will be determined for individual students by the head of the Institute of Archeology at the guarantor's proposal subject. If possible, the preferences of the listener should also be taken into account. About the course of practice the student will keep a diary, the mentor and supervisor will write a short description of his participation in the practice. To these documents will be taken into account during the final interview with the student under the guidance of the subject guarantor with the participation of other persons (usually mentor and supervisor participation is assumed). The decision to grant or not to grant credit rests with the subject guarantor.
- Learning outcomes
- Students should primarily participate in large-scale rescue research, with participation in the preparation of the research (its focus, selection and application of appropriate excavation methods). They should also participate in the actual excavation works and their documentation (photographic, drawing and written), as well as in other activities connected with them (filling in stratigraphic matrices, provisional treatment and storage of finds and samples taken, their research records) up to the creation of the Finds news.

- After completing the mandatory internship, the credit will be realized in the form of an oral interview taking into account the student's internship diary and the written statement of the mentor and supervisor
