Course objectives
The course is focused on theoretical and practical issues of translation from German to Czech and from Czech to German. The core of the course consists of specific problems that the translator may encounter in his work. The course is designed as a seminar in which students will be able to try out various translation techniques and discuss the possibilities of solving translation "nuts". Attention is paid to the translation of official documents and professional texts, as well as the translation of literary texts. At the end of the seminar they will have the opportunity to present their own translation and discuss it in a group.
