Course objectives
The subject matter is focused on selected branches of private and public law, specifically on the fields of family law, labour law, trade law and the social securtity law. The knowledge gained by passing the subject "Selected chapters of law" will constitute the foundation for further studies or practical application in the relevant legal disciplines, both in the field of social security (social insurance, state social support and social help) as well as in the family law (resulting in basic knowledge of family law institutes incl. the matrimonial law, legal relations between parents and children), labour law (establishment and terminatin of the labour relations, responsibility for damages) and the commercial and trade law (distinction between the dependent legal relations and enterpreneurship, practical aspects of initiation of trade activities). The subject is focused on establishing a general overview of the legal regulation in the relevant fields of law as a prerequisite for further academic and practical interest. Study Outcomes: Acquisition of preconditions to an interpretation and the application of legal norms. Overview in the structure of legal regulation. Professional Knowledge: Acquisition of basic knowledge of the subject matter of the legal adaptation of some institutes and selected branches of Czech law. Professional Skills: The ability to explain some important legal concepts of the Czech law and assess their applicability to practical cases. General Qualification: Students acquire the necessary basic knowledge in the field of social security law, labour, commercial and family law. Competences: Students can distinguish and evaluate the situation in specified sections of the social security, labour, commercial and family law and then proceed in accordance with relevant legal standards.

A written test to verify the acquired theoretical knowledge (the institutes of the review of administrative decision, the substantive provisions). Active participation in seminars as agreed with the lecturer.
