Course objectives
The course is aimed at developing practical skills based on the base areas of personnel work (see the 12 points below). . He trace practical goal for each students too - through practical training/rehearsal highlight those aspects that will be imporant for them in their future professional life : the job search after university graduation especially: the principles of creating a professional CV, self- presentation when applying for a job,, searching, selection, obtaining a job, orientation (inductiion letter), possibilities of applying diagnostic methods for obtaining work, and professional career planning ,etc.
Syllabus
  • 1. Personnel management and its role in enterprise. Categories concept: personnel administration, personnel management, personnel work, human ressource management (HRM). Personnel management tasks and who is participating in them. Human Resources department. and its specific tasks and organisation. Personnel policy and strategy. Strategic human resources management. Personnel services (activities, duties). The importace of personnel work for enterprise and its benefit. Current problems of personnel management in the Czech Republic.
    2. Personnel planning. Purpose and general tasks of personnel planning. The position of personnel planning in business planning. Questions which have to be answered by personnel planning. The process of workforce planning in enterprise. Personnel activities planning. Planning staff development for employees / professional career. The role of managers and the human resources department.
    3. Work places creation and analysis. Job creation. Work place analysis.
    4. Employee recruitment. Concepts and challenges of employee recruitment. Internal and external conditions of
    5. employee recruitment. Employee recruitment process and its steps. Employee recruitment policy
    and rules which must be keep.
    6. Selection of staff. Concept and tasks of employee selection. Assessment of candidates as a key problem of selection. selection criteria , validity and reliability of factors used to predict succesful job performance (predictors). Phase of employee selection. Methods of employee selection and their use. Presentation of candidates for employment. Leadershiprecruiment interview with candidates for employment.
    7. Employee recruiment and orientation. Formation of recruiment formalities. Employees orientation as adaptational and educational activities. Orientation spheres and their content (inductive sheet). Orientation period and grade. The role of managers and the human resources department..
    8. Employee evaluation. Evaluation goals. Evaluation forms. Who carries out the evaluation. Evaluation criteria. Evaluation methods. Evaluation conclusions.
    9. Employee placement, dismissal and retirement. The concept and sense of employee placement. Employee placement and staffing. Forms of employee placement in the frame of internal mobility. Forms of placement in the frame of external mobility. Reducing employees and its methods. The role of managers and the human resources department.
    10. Corporate staff training. The concept and position in system of personnel work. Education and qualification. Formation of an individual's job skills and the formation of the job skills of a company's employee. . The systém of business educational. Identification of educational needs. Planning of corporate employee education. Educational methods, their utilization and effectiveness. Evaluation of educational outcomesand effectiveness of the educational program.
    11. Working conditions. Working hours . Work enviroment. Services given to employees. Occupational safety and health of workers.
    12. Industrial relations and legislative framework of human resources. Basic social-economic rights of people. Position of labour unions in enterprise. Collective bargaining. Legal regulation of employment. Work discipline. Employee relations.
    13. Information system in personnel work and information flow. RThe role of managers and the human resources department.
