- Course objectives
- The course aims to provide students with practical training. Practical training takes place during summer months (July, August). The students are deployed to departments of secondary and tertiary care, according to study plan (see table - Schedule of practical training). Students can carry out practical training at clinical departments in the place of their residence. These clinical departments are selected and approved in accordance with given standards - they meet the required criteria. Practical training takes place under supervision of mentors of clinical practice in cooperation with guarantors of clinical practice at the Institute of Nursing. Their validity and observance are guaranteed by contract. The extent and content of individual practical training is specified by study plan (time scheduling of practical training, extent of hours and departments) and internal regulation which states formal and content conditions of continuous practical training. The course introduces working at individual clinical departments and wards. During practical training, the student works at standard nursing wards, at intensive care units, as well as special nursing units. The student learns to classify differences of nursing care of various ill people, the handicapped and dying patients. After finishing the course, the student will be able to work at individual clinical wards using the method of nursing process under supervision of a mentor.
