The course is offered to students of any study field.
Course objectives
The main aim of the course is to acquire basic knowledge of language which is due to its historical and social roots very close to Czech. The teaching is conceived in order so that the fundamentals of language theory which will be extended during the course and verified in a form of practical exercise, following not only given grammar topic but also extending word-stock of students with focus on prepositional phrases and phraseology will be managed. Besides grammatical and lexical meaning system of Polish, the emphasis will be put also on development and functioning of current language focusing explanation of differences between language of fiction, scientific, political, administrative language etc. Given phenomenon is significant for other European countries too. The work with scientific and supplementary texts from various fields of social life will highlight specific character of Polish language and its differences compared to Czech. After managing introductory texts, the teaching will focus on specialized materials which are more difficult from language point of view and students should manage them during the second part of course. Some of the selected texts will be added by explanations and translations of idioms or other peculiarities of Polish. Supplementary materials will enrich word-stock and adoption of phrases reflecting specific character of each national language.
