Course objectives
The aim of the course is to make the students familiar with principal attitudes to studies of political parties and party systems. The students will be gradually presented an issue of definition and origin of political parties and party systems in Europe and the theoretical concepts which are in this study crucial. Except for the theoretical background, the students will learn also model cases of states with specific party systems. A final part of the course will be dedicated to the methodological issues concerning the research of party systems and new questions and problems which the political parties and their systems currently have to deal with.
