Course objectives
The aim of the course is to provide students with comprehensive information about the issue of domestic violence. Students will acquire the relevant terminology, become familiar with the issue of domestic violence, learn the basic signs of domestic violence, understand the cycle of domestic violence, be able to identify domestic violence based on the given indicators, become aware of the specifics of persons at risk and become familiar with the characteristics of violent persons. An integral part of the subject is also learning the recommended procedures for intervention in the case of domestic violence, including the legislative anchoring of the given issue. Students will also be introduced to the possibilities of helping people at risk of domestic violence.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, the student will be able to: - describe the types of domestic violence, - orient yourself in the terminology associated with domestic violence - describe the cycle of domestic violence and define and characterize violent persons and persons/groups of domestic violence persons - list forms of assistance to victims of domestic violence
Syllabus
  • 1. Domestic violence, causes, occurrence, consequences. Identification of key terms. 2. Persons at risk of domestic violence (women, men, LGBT +, children and the elderly) 3. Violent persons 4. CAN syndrome - syndrome of abused, neglected and neglected child. 5. EAN syndrome - problems of abuse and neglect of seniors. 6. Physical abuse 7. Mental abuse. Psychological deprivation and traumatization 8. Sexual abuse. 9. Neglect and neglect. 10. Prevention and intervention. Help for people at risk of domestic violence. 11. Communication with persons at risk of domestic violence. 12. Help for violent people, prevention of violent behavior.
