Course objectives
The aim of the course is to apply the knowledge of students from already completed economic and legal disciplines in the field of social security in the Czech Republic. Theoretical knowledge from the lectures is deepened by individual consultations, which include not only student presentations, but also training in solving situations in social security using some forms and other materials.
Learning outcomes
Expertise: The student will learn the basic conditions for entitlement to individual social benefits, which are paid from the social security system. Field skills: The student will be able to orientate in the social security benefit system, understand the basic principles of its financing and administration and will be able to use expertise in practice. General competences: The student will gain knowledge and skills that will effectively lead him to the sources of additional knowledge and skills needed for their application and use in practice. The general learning outcome should be the student's ability to think critically and evaluate social reality without media or political distortions.

Assessment methods
Submission and defence of a term paper on a selected topic, half-time written test (successful completion at 60% or more correct answers), written exam.

Teacher's information
Instruction in person is conducted through a system of introductory consultations on selected topics in the scope of 12 hours.The part-time study material is accessible in an e-learning course environment at the e-portal https://elearning.slu.cz/enrol/index.php?id=144, where various individual tutorials are conducted according to the subject matter overview and under the guidance of the instructor.This environment also provides students individual consultations of selected problematic units.Electronic study material with assignments is determined and prepared.
