- Course objectives
- The course provides the graduate with detailed information about the legal regulation and social security system in the Czech legal system. The subject is conceived as complementary to the subject Economics and Social Security Administration in the sense that it focuses on the legal aspect of the issue. In its general part, the subject is devoted to the historical and human rights origins of the current regulation of social security and introduces the student to the current system of legal regulation of social security from the point of view of the system and from the point of view of legal relations and applicable legal regulation. An interpretation of the international legal aspects of the issue in question and the impact of European legislation is also included. Social security law is placed in the context of other legal fields, especially the relationship to the matter of administrative law is emphasized. In a special part of the subject, attention is paid to individual subsystems of social security: sickness and pension insurance, the system of state social support and regulation in the field of social services. The subject also deals with the legal aspects of state employment policy.
- Learning outcomes
- Graduates of the course will gain a detailed insight into the structure of social security legislation in the Czech Republic and about institutes, especially in the area of administrative law and social law. security that are used in the area. The graduate will also be made aware of recent judicial developments in the field of social security.

- To successfully complete the subject, it is necessary to obtain at least 80 out of 100 possible qualification points, which are assigned to the student based on: a) the result of the written exam (or oral exam in an alternate term), for which up to 100 qualification points can be obtained; b) elaboration of a seminar paper in the scope of up to 5 norm pages, for which it is possible to obtain up to 10 qualification points; c) preparation of a presentation on a selected or designated related topic offering a deeper insight into the issue, for which up to 10 qualification points can be obtained.
