Cílem předmětu je seznámit posluchače se základními historickými etapami sociální politiky a sociální práce, vysvětlit její smysl a působnost v různých dobových pohledech. Vést k pochopení rozdílnosti sociálních systémů a nástrojů sociální politiky v souvislosti s cílem a záměry činností významných osobností této oblasti.
