Course objectives
The aim of the course Public economy is to learn the students to understand the differences and common issues of public economy and public policy, to develop their ability to evaluate the role of the state and public administration in economy and understand the causes of existence of public and civil sector within national economy. Next, the aim is to introduce public economy instruments such as public finances, public contracts, public support, public informatics and public control. The economy of such branches of national economy in which the public interest exceeds is also a part of the course. The lecture part is followed by tutorial in which the students exercise their theoretical knowledge by case studies.

Teacher's information
The students are obliged to manage the substance and key concepts from the area of public economy. Their active participation in tutorials, active discussion about public economy issues and elaboration and presentation of a paper on chosen topic are expected.
Five-pages text on topic relating to given issues of student´s choice from given topics. The student presents the text in tutorial with use of basic literature and own practical experience, answers the other students´ questions, defends one´s own attitude and discusses about the presentation subject with others. Other students and then also a teacher evaluate the presentation.
