Course objectives
The aim of the one semestral course is to acquaint students with some most important names and problems across the spectrum of European philosophical tradition. Because of the limited space of the course the history of philosophy will be presented rather from the systematic and problematic point of view, especially from the anthropological point of view. It means that the the lectures will be concentrated on the philosophical implications of the theory for understanding people and their place in the world. The result of this conception will be an explanation of basic concepts and problems proposed by a particular philosophical approach as its application to human, which is still the main concern of philosophical inquiry. The perspective outlined in such a manner allows students to view recent understanding of human beings as a result of long tradition and evolution. SEMINAR The work in the seminar will be concentrated on the reading of some basic philosophical texts and work with them.
