Course objectives

The aim of the course is to present the institutional structures and functioning of political systems of countries of central and eastern Europe. In the first phase, the theoretical and methodological way-outs of study of political systems will be mentioned with focus on both issue of transitology and consolidology and theory of non-democratic regimes. In the next part, the systems of individual countries will be presented. The peculiarities of individual political systems such as position of individual institutions, character of political systems, etc. will be deepened in seminars.

Teacher's information

The course is terminated by written test which will be derived from the content of lectures and compulsory literature. The students will compose seminar paper on previously assigned topic with the extent of seven pages. The students are expected to participate actively and regularly in seminar discussions. The students will be examined once from knowledge of compulsory literature once during the semester.
