Course Enrolment Limitations
The course is offered to students of any study field.
Course objectives
The aim of the course is to introduce the issue of non-profit organizations from the point of view of political and sociological theories. The attention will be paid especially to theory of political system (including structurally-functional analysis) and concept of civil society. Next, the connections of development and scope of action of non-profit organizations in central Europe introduced on the basis of delimitation of roles of non-profit organizations in the frame of political system and analysis of non-profit sector as integral counterpart of civil society. The attention will be paid also to position of non-profit organizations in the frame of policies of European Union. The seminars will be aimed at deepening the issue of non-profit organizations itself, they will provide the space for development of analytical skills of students on the basis of discussions and practical exercises.

Teacher's information
The course is terminated by written test which is deceived from lectures, seminar reading and further compulsory literature. During the term, the students will compose the presentation on selected topic in the extent of 3 pages. Except from the regular reading of given literature, the active participation of students in seminar discussions is expected.
