Course objectives
The aim of the course is to provide elementary outline of development of public administration in Czech lands (Czechoslovakia), enable the orientation in system of public administration and its components, state administration and self-administration, in individual historical periods, to form initial frame for deeper understanding of modern administrative system and for further study in specialized subjects in the frame of theoretical background of the field.

  • 1st Territorial development and administrative division of the state and country
    2nd Administration of the state from the 10th century till 1526 (ruling, professional, financial, legal)
    3rd Administration of the state from 1526 to 1848
    4th Particular administration in 1848 (City, patrimonial, church)
    5th The administrative system of the Austrian State in the years 1848-1918, with emphasis on the Czech lands (Constitutional development, political governance)
    6th The administrative system of the Austrian State in the years 1848-1918 , with emphasis on the Czech lands (government, administration of justice)
    7th The administrative system of Czechoslovakia in 1918-1938 (institutional development, legislative and executive)
    8th The administrative system of Czechoslovakia in 1918-1938 (political and local administration, judicial organization)
    9th Administration in 1938-1945 (an emigration government, an area of the Protectorate, the Sudetenland)
    10th The administrative system in Czechoslovakia in the years 1945-1960 (constitutional development, legislative and executive power)
