Course Enrolment Limitations

The course is offered to students of any study field.

Course objectives

The course is designed as an introduction to engineering studies, writing bibliographic citations and the creation of seminar papers, introduction to the library collections etc. The seminars will be devoted to basic information for the study of the field. The training course will be an excursion to the university library with a view to understanding its structure and organization of library collections and catalogs. Attention will be paid to the methodological and formal aspect work, which the students write during their studies. Students use theoretical information and practical skills when processing seminar papers, working with literature, in formulating the thesis.

1. Act No. 111/1998 Coll. by The universities and amending other laws.
2. Study order, disciplinary order.
3. The credit system, examination order, study monitoring duties.
4. The organization of the university library, collections, catalogs, searching, reserving publications
5. Guidelines for the preparation seminar and thesis.
6. Bibliographic citations of documents according to ČSN ISO 690 and ČSN ISO 690-2 - Methodology and general rules.
7. Bibliographic citations of documents according to ČSN ISO 690 and ČSN ISO 690-2 - models and examples of different types of documents.
8. Peculiarities of citations from electronic resources.
9. Rules for working with text - citation, paraphrasing, including comments.
10. Practical exercises of citation standards.
