- The purpose of the course is to verify theoretical knowledge when working in public administration institutions, governed under Act No. 312/2002 Coll., on officials of self-governing territorial units and under the administrative regulations, or Act No. 500/2004 Coll. Students will acquire basic methodological knowledge on procedures in public institutions that promote the social inclusion of socially disadvantaged citizens. Students will verify for themselves these basic working procedures of public administration and the methods and techniques of social work. The greatest attention is paid to the so-called 'shading', i.e. following of the professional staff in the institutions so that the student can realize the differences between theoretical and applied forms of social work. The internship allows students to confront their ideas about the nature of public administration in the field of welfare administration and social work in organisations which provide social work in areas other than the providers of social services and to learn the content of the ethical standards of public administration workers. After passing the course, students will be well informed in the system of work and in the structure of public administration institutions. The result of the practical performance of the students at the workplace where internship takes place will be a detailed written report, which will be continuously consulted with both the internship supervisor at the workplace, and the instructors of the course. Reflection and self-reflection of the students' experience will be the content of supervising meetings in the Supervision of professional practice I. course. Study Outcomes: Professional Knowledge: Students can define basic procedures derived from the administrative order and from the working procedures of the selected institution. They will learn ethical norms and standards of the work in such an institution. Professional Skills: Students can describe the model of professional social work in the chosen type of institutions or confront their ideas with the reality of the institutions their internship takes place at. General Qualification: Students learn the reality of social work providers and the working procedures in the selected institution, which they can use at a different social work provider or a their potential employers.
