The student will acquire knowledge in the field of gynecology and obstetrics, will understand the problems of this medical field.

Course objectives
Learning outcomes of the course unit The aim of the course is to acquaint students with health care of women according to their age, health status of reproductive organs and gynecological diseases. The subject acquaints with individual areas of gynecology and obstetrics, deals with basic gynecological diseases, their prevention, diagnostics and treatment, including education. The subject describes nursing care of women with an emphasis on the individual needs of girls and women in individual life stages - childhood, adolescence, reproduction period, climacterium. Points to the importance of reproductive and sexual health. After graduating the subject, the student will focus on nursing care of a woman in health and illness.
Syllabus
  • 1. Preventive care of a woman within the primary care system (gynecological anamnesis, gynecological examination (cytology, colposcopy), gynecological examination methods, preventive programs in the Czech Republic.
    2. Contraception and education for planned parenting, abortion, spontaneous abortion. Small and large operations in gynecology (vaginal, abdominal).
    3. Gynecological inflammation, urinary incontinence, abnormal position of the internal genital organs, descensus, venereal diseases.
    4. Problems of children's gynecology and adolescent gynecology. Sexual and reproductive health. Preventive Programs and WHO Recommendations.
    5. Benign Cancer Diseases. Prevention and dispensarisation. The most common malignant tumors (vulva, vagina, cervix, endometrium, ovary, ovary).
    6. Examination methods in obstetrics. Ectopic pregnancy, sterility, fertility, infertility, assisted reproduction.
    7. Preventive care for a woman (obstetric anamnesis). Body changes in pregnancy, diagnosis in pregnancy, physiological and risky pregnancies, organization of antenatal care.
    8. Spontaneous and pathological delivery. Obstetric surgery, sudden events in obstetrics and gynecology.
    9. Care for a woman in a puerperium. Physiological and pathological puerperium.

    1. Sexual and reproductive health, preventive programs. Educational activities of nurses, educational plans.

    3. Gynecological nursing, primary and secondary gynecological care, nursing process in gynecology of childhood and adolescence.
    4. Nursing process in women with inflammatory bowel disease, with sterility and with endometriosis
    5. Nursing process in a woman before and after a small gynecological procedure.
    6. Nursing process in a woman with benign and malignant cancer.
    7. Nursing process in women in radiotherapy and chemotherapy.
    8. Nursing process in a woman with a mammary gland disease.
    9. Nursing process in a woman with a sudden gynecological event.

100% attendance at the exercises (for a student who for serious reasons could not attend the compulsory classes, the teacher determines the alternative way of fulfilling the study obligations).
Requirements for credit: participation in clinical seminars, credit - nursing care of a client with a gynecological disease.
