Course objectives
The aim of the subject Communication for Teachers is to acquire and deepen the knowledge of students in social and pedagogical communication. The lecture cycle deals with interpersonal communication in relation to personality psychology, verbal communication analysis and spoken word technique. Furthermore, the subject focuses on the analysis of body language, active listening, interviewing, asking questions, solving conflicts in communication and communication in the group. The main emphasis is placed on the specifics of pedagogical communication, the personality of the teacher and his communication competence and communication in pedagogical practice. The aim of the seminars is to apply theoretical knowledge to practice.

    1. Social relations (social perception, interaction, communication).
    2. Basic communication models.
    3. Verbal communication (its meaning, content of the speech, paralinguistic, barriers to communication, communication technology). Technique of verbal speech.
    4. Nonverbal communication. Body language. Image.
    5. Active listening.
    6. Empathy. Emotional intelligence.
    7. Conflict and aggression in communication.
    8. Interviews. Counseling interview.
    9. Communications in the group.
    10. Interpersonal conflict.

Teacher's information
Student will prepare seminar work in the range of min. 3 pages from the field of pedagogical communication, it is an analysis of own communication style, personality typology and analysis of the communication process with a pupil or a group of pupils. In the oral exam the student will demonstrate the knowledge of communication skills with a focus on pedagogical communication.
