Course objectives
The course is a part of a set of compulsory courses. It provides fundamentals of clinical pharmacology to which other courses of the field of study are tied. An important part also consists in issues of desirable and adverse effects of medicines, whose monitoring is one of the nurse's basic duties.
Syllabus
  • 1. Pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics.
    2. Clinical assessment of medicines, registration of medicines, medicine interactions, adverse effects of medicines.
    3. Vegetative nervous system.
    4. Medicines used for therapy of cardiovascular system.
    5. Antiplatelet therapy, venoactive medicines and medicines influencing blood coagulations.
    6. Medicines used for respiratory system diseases.
    7. Medicines affecting gastrointestinal system.
    8. Pain therapy: analgesics, antipyretics, non-steroidal antirheumatics, antiflogistics, gout medicines, opioid analgesics.
    9. Medicines used in anaesthesiology.
    10. Medicines used for neurological and psychiatric diseases.
    11. Cytostatics, antimicrobial therapy.
    12. Hormones, medicines used in obstetrics and urology.
    13. Antidiabetics.

Teacher's information
The contact instruction is implemented through the system of tutorials on selected topics. The combined part of the studies is implemented in the e-learning course environment at e-portal http://elearning.fvp.slu.cz/. The students have study supports including correspondence tasks available for instruction there. The course is concluded by a credit in written form; within it, the student will demonstrate knowledge of basic and recommended reading and be able to discuss the processed correspondence tasks. The student will have the opportunity to consult individually the topics studied, through individual or group tutorials or electronic mail.
The credit is conditioned by compulsory attendance at lessons with minimal attendance rate of 80% and fulfilment of the credit test criteria (cut-off score: 80%).
