Course objectives
Within the previously completed work experience (I-III), students became acquainted with different types of facilities which provide educational activities, the planning, organization and implementation of which was an integral part of the work experience, forming the content of their work experience journal. They tried working with very different groups of the elderly and of organizations that provide services for the elderly.
Therefore, Professional work experience IV is a continuous course of work experience of the students’ choice in connection to a supervisor’s recommendation and should be related to the possibilities of the organization. When choosing work experience, it will also be monitored for being related to the practical part of the thesis.
The continuous work experience is based on the aim to gain experience with the normal, everyday operation of the chosen organization. It focuses on demonstrating the educational erudition of students to work with the selected target group, the specific demands, behaviours and needs of which they can take into account in their educational activities.
As part of their professional work experience output, students keep a work experience journal. The structure of the journal is given by the instructing pedagogue.
Educational outcomes will be processed according to the methodical structure. A necessary part of the course is the performed implementation of the output, the student’s own evaluation of work experience and the relevant facility’s assessment of the student.
