- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is to provide the student with the knowledge enabling him/her to acquire not only the basic orientation in the legal system and the most important legal regulations, but also to form his/her ability to apply this knowledge in the exercise of state administration in public administration and in civic life. Along with this, the course is intended to acquaint students with the legal and institutional context of the exercise of its activities.
- Learning outcomes
- Upon completion of the course the student will be able to:
- identify and summarize important facts in the field of legal knowledge; - identify and explain current trends in the legal disciplines - produce an essay defining the features of a legal norm, the validity and scope of a legal norm - describe the factors that influence the decision-making of both administrative and judicial bodies - compare the differences in private, public and international law - Syllabus

Constitutional order of the Czech Republic, constitutional laws, structure of the legal system of the Czech Republic 4. Structure of state administration and self-government in the Czech Republic 5. Law, concept and meaning, legal consciousness, types of legal cultures 6. Sources of law, in general about the system of sources of law, sources of law in the Czech Republic 7. Legal norms, concept of structure, division, validity and scope of legal norms 8. system of law, international, national, public, private, substantive and procedural law 9. Legal relations, subjective law, legal relations- concept, prerequisites and elements, legal facts, elements of legal relations, types 10. Rights in rem, concept and classification of rights in rem, ownership, possession, co-ownership, rights in rem 11.
