Předmět Bankovnictví A seznamuje posluchače společně s ostatními kurzy finančního zaměření s místem a úlohou bank v tržní ekonomice. Kromě základního přehledu o bankovnictví, úloze regulace a dohledu a mezinárodním bankovnictví podá podrobnou charakteristiku organizace a základních forem činnosti bank. Veškeré probírané otázky jsou vztaženy ke konkrétnímu vývoji bankovnictví v ČR.
