- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is to acquain students with economic development in European countries. The course will analyze integrational trends, common features and specifics of economic development in Europe and Czechoslovakia from beginnings of industrial society to fall of communistic regimes.

- 1. Birth of the modern industrial society
2. Economic aspects of First World War
3. Czechoslovak economy after the establishment of independent state
4. Russian economy after 1917
5. Great Depression and efforts of overcoming the crisis
6. Rise of nacism in Germany and its consequences
7. War economy of European countries during Second World War
8. Economic recovery of postwar Europe and Czechoslovakia
9. West after 1950 and beginning of the European integration
10. Formation of the Soviet bloc
11. Reforms of centrally planned economies and its results in Czechoslovakia
12. Changes of economic development in the 1970s and 1980s
13. Fall of communistic regimes and completion of European integration
