- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is to make students acquainted with current innovations and developments in the IT domain as a whole. The students will get an overview of the up-to-date situation in the domain and by preparing the seminar work they will learn how to analyze and evaluate the trends in the selected IT area.

- 1. ICT paradigms: the state of the art.
2. Recent development in hardware (servers and working stations) and software (operationg systems).
3. Open source products: innovations and developments.
4. New trends in the data storage area.
5. Computer networks - innovations in hardware and software support.
6. ICT security and its recent development.
7. Mobile means of IS support.
8. ICT in leading companies in Czech republic -priorities overview.
9. Multi-media and graphical means development.
10. Informatics as a service - some consequences for IT managers.
11. Virtualization and its results.
12. New trends in the databases.
13. Business intelligence.
