The aim of the course is to introduce the expeditions of European travelers and explorers from the Middle Ages to modern times.
Learning outcomes
Explain the causes and impacts of the expeditions of European travelers and explorers.

Marco Polo - legendary journey to the court of the Great Khan 4. Vasco de Gama - Portuguese navigators on their journeys to the spice islands 5. Coombs and Vespucci - the journey to the discovery of the New World 6. In the footsteps of Columbus - discoverers and conquerors 7. Fernao Magalhaes - the first voyage around the world 8. James Cook - discoverer of the Pacific 9. DavidLivingstone - the greatest African traveler 10. The search for the Northwest Passage - a race against ice and time 11. Roald Amundsen - conqueror of the poles 12. Women travelers - pioneers of forgotten journeys
