Course objectives (in Czech)
The purpose of this course is to provide students basic orientation in legal order of The Czech republic. After passing this subject they will be qualified to classify any legal problem into the proper legal branch and use them in practice. The course is composed with the focusing on general legal theory, meaning of legal regulation in society, obtaining fundamental knowledge of commercial law and company terminology. This course is recommended to bachelor's studying programs accredited by The School of Business Administration in Karvina.

  • 1. The role of state and law in market economics
    2. Fundamental principles of law
    3. The constitutional basis of The Czech Republic
    4. Application and interpretation of legal rules
    5. Legal subjects
    6. The basic characteristic of business activities
    7. Trade relations of obligation
    8. Procedural dispute resolution in business activities
    Structure of the Course:
    1. The role of state and law in market economy
    Legality and legal state. Law, freedom, equality. Democratic and legal state. Protection of human rights and freedoms. Social rights. Separation of powers.
    2. Fundamental principles of law
    Role and purpose of law in society, law and justice in democratic plural society.
    3. The constitutional basis of The Czech Republic
    The concept of constitutional law, basic features of legislative, executive and judicial power. Fundamental rights and freedoms and their protection.
    4. Application and interpretation of legal rule
    The process of law application. Individual legal acts, constitutive and declarative individual legal acts, official certificate. The activity of public administration authorities, law application and justice.
    5. Legal subjects
    Classification of subjects of legal relationships. An individual and its capacity to enter into legal acts. Legal entity as a subject of legal relationship.
    6. The basic characteristic of business activities
    Entrepreneurship, company and assets, entrepreneur, trade name, commercial dealing, business activities of foreign entrepreneurs, Company and Trade Register.
    7. Trade relations of obligation
    Rise, change and extinction of relations of an obligation. Chosen aspects of obligation security in commercial law.
    8. A procedural dispute resolution in business activities
    The general characteristic of a trial and arbitration.
