Course objectives
The goal of the subject is to develop students´ knowledge and skills in the area of linguistic, communicative and intercultural competence so that they are able to participate efficiently in business communication within the EU and outside it. The emphasis is put on the cultural background of partner universities which helps students to study there and to find a job within the EU. Attention is devoted to non-verbal communication, the process of acculturation and culture shock, culture values, stereotypes and prejudice, and the potential influence of religions on business negotiating. The course also provides key facts related to specific cultures.
