Course objectives
The course objective is focused to handle basic logistics terms and approaches used in logistics. Logistics plays important role for all business activities for its entrepreneurial philosophy character. The intention of this course is to know elementary methods and logistic approaches and enlighten them in practise by practical examples of modern ways for solving logistic problems with regard to market and marketing strategy.

    1.Definition of logistics management. Nature and importance of logistics. The role of logistics in the economy and the organization. Development of logistics.
    2.Basic aspects of logistics objectives. Economic and performance objectives. Key logistics activities. Activities costs of business logistics.
    3.The importance of accurate cost data. Total cost analysis. Limitations of current profitability reports. Solving the problem of insufficient cost data.
    4.Basic inventory concepts and inventory management. Financial aspects of inventory strategy. The impact of inventory turnover on inventory carrying costs.
    5.Definition of customer service. Establishing of a customer service strategy. Importance of customer service in logistics and marketing. Customer service aspects.
    6.Developing and reporting customer service standards. Pre-transaction elements. Transaction elements. Post-transaction elements.
    7.Carrier characteristics and services. Global issues. Regulatory issues. Carrier pricing and related issues. Logistics and traffic management.
