- Course objectives
- Course objectives: After completing the course successfully, students will reach the B2 level (SERR). The course focuses primarily on six selected fields of economics, companies, employment and unemployment, market, marketing, bank and money. In the seminars, students will improve the interpretation of the terms and grammar typical of professional language. Attention will also be paid to the professional vocabulary, definitions and phrases, including schematics, diagrams, and tables for an easy memorization of terms in a foreign language and at the same time for the structuring of knowledge of economic issues of any kind. Students will also work actively in seminars with professional texts including content, grammatical, lexical and translational fields. Emphasis will also be put on the language skills of reading, writing and speaking in the above economic issues.
- Learning outcomes
- After completing the course, the successful student reaches level B2 (CEFR). The course focuses primarily on six selected chapters covering economics, companies, employment and unemployment, the market, marketing, banks, and money. During the seminars, students will improve their ability to explain concepts and grammar typical of professional language. Attention is also devoted to specialized vocabulary, definitions, and set phrases, including diagrams, charts, and other tables that help with memorizing terms in a foreign language and with structuring knowledge of economic topics in general. Furthermore, students will actively work with professional texts in the seminars — in terms of content, grammar, vocabulary, and translation. Emphasis is also placed on the language skills of reading, writing, and speaking within the above‑mentioned economic themes.

The course is completed with an assessment, which students receive on the basis of a continuous oral test and a final written exam. Students can achieve a maximum of 100 points; at least 60 points are required to obtain the assessment. Students who are repeating the relevant language section are not required to meet the 60% attendance obligation.
