Course objectives
The subject gives students a general view of manager techniques that include methodology and presentation of activities, rhetoric and communication. It makes students familiar with correct methods of presentation, non-verbal communication, coping technique of handling and assertive behaviour. Students will learn correct technique of presentation and argumentation, and tips for work with audience. Students will focus of self-knowledge, managerial self-reflection and getting to know other people. It approaches typology of managerial personality and its application in practice.
Syllabus
  • 1) Presentation techniques.
    2) Process and stages of presentation, presentation technique and its use in practice, practising of presentation.
    3) Non-verbal presentation.
    4) Moderation process and techniques, coping with negative criticism and audience opinions.
    5) Assertive communication as another communication technique.
    6) Aggressivity and manipulation. Ways of distinguishing them during communication.
    7) Basic parts of assertive behaviour ? techniques, procedures, assertive rights.
    8) Problems of cognitive constructions (automatic thinking, stereotypes), testing of personal stereotypes.
    9) Contents and the meaning of the term ?rhetoric?.
    10) Contents and the structure of high-quality speech, rhetorical practice, coping with stage-fright and other problems, voice culture, voice training.
