- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is to show a way how to solve selected problems of operations research practice with a help of selected software products. For teaching MS Excel, MS Project and WIN-QSB software products will be used. Students become familiar with the possibilities of using the programs and get the practical skills how to use it for specific types of tasks. The acquired skills will increase the employability of graduates. The course itself is built on knowledge the courses of Mathematical Methods in Economics and Management I, II and III.

- 1. Basic information about software - MS Excel, MS Project, WIN-QSB.
2. Tasks and problems of linear programming (mathematical models, soluting by MS Excel and WIN-QSB).
3. Integer and binary programing (MS Excel, WIN-QSB).
4. Assignment and transportation problem (MS Excel, WIN-QSB).
5. Input-output models and corporate balance models (MS Excel).
6. Queuing systems (MS Excel, WIN-QSB).
7. Inventory models (MS Excel, WIN-QSB).
8. Game theory problems (MS Excel).
9. Project management - CPM method (MS Project, WIN-QSB).
10. Project management - PERT method (MS Project, WIN-QSB).
11. Optimalization of portfolio of financial assets (MS Excel).
