Course objectives
The aim of this course is to provide students with the necessary knowledge in a comprehensive way to enable their better orientation in a relatively complex area of Human Resource Management (HRM) and enable them to apply their obtained knowledge in practice. The course presents relevant information about principles of HRM and its role in enterprises and other organizations, and stresses the importance of personnel officers and personnel managers within organizations both in Czech and international subjects worldwide. Also, the goal of the course is to put emphasis on systemic relations and consequences of procedures and methods used within personnel management in companies while pointing out the moral aspects and cooperative partnership attitude of the employer, too.

Course details
  • Submit a case study (0-30 points)
  • Presentation of the case study (0-10 points)
  • Exam - final test on topics covered in classes and 3x tasks (0-60 points)
Final test contain:
a) Test with 15 closed questions (0-30 points)
b) 3x Tasks from lectures, you insert tasks → IS SU → Study Materials (0-30 points)
You must complete all tasks until 10 days before your exam.
Task 1: about competency, 10 points
Task 2: about  job descriptions, 10 points
Task 3: about e-learning, 10 points

Case study:

  • Individual efforts and real time case studies to be presented by the individual
  • Deadline for submission: April 30, 2022
  • IS SU Study Materials Homework vaults/seminar groups
  • Topic: Explain how human resource management (HRM) works in two countries or in two organizations in your country. How to manage multinational employees in a multinational company in an organization.
  • Task: You choose one or two parts of HRM. You will describe and explain these two selected sections in two countries working for same organization or in two organizations in your country. 


Grade (summary: 3x tasks and final exam):

100  - 94 points   A

93 - 86    points   B

85 -78     points   C

77 - 70    points   D

69 - 60    points   E

59 and less points  F
