- Course objectives
- The aim is to familiarise participants with the Czechschool system. The focus is on the specific features of the individual school types (target groups, curricula, qualifications, career prospects), alternative educational pathways, and social services provided by the various types of
institutions. During the face-to-face phase, lesson observations and teaching placements will take place at various Czech schools in Opava, Ostrava and the surrounding area. Considerable time will also be devoted to discussing this topic, covering similarities, differences, and the pros and cons of all three school systems. - Learning outcomes
- Understanding of the education systems in Germany, Poland and the Czech Republic; improvement of language skills.
- Syllabus
- 1. Online phase: Discussion on the topic ‘The Czech school system’.
2. Face-to-face phase: Classroom observations – schools in Opava, Krnov and Ostrava; workshops, games and activities to engage pupils on the topic of ‘Modern teaching methods’; supporting programme (excursion to Ostrava – the Vítkovice Ironworks; Long Night of Short Texts; a unique experience: Unisféra; Silesian Theatre; exhibitions, etc.) - Teaching methods
