Course objectives
One-semester lecture course aims to familiarize participants with the issue of the Latene period in the Czech Republic, taking into account in a European context. After a general introduction (definition, definition of the topic, research history, periodization and chronology of the Latene period) introduces the most important issue of settlement areas of our country in the Latene period (the beginnings of the Latene period, the Celtic expansion, royal tombs, burial issue, the issue of settlements, Celtic and economy numismatics, the spiritual life of the Celts, Celtic art, foreign influences and contacts, with an emphasis on material culture. The course is exercise.

  • 1 / Definition of the topic and its problems. Development of research on the La Tene period, chronology and periodization of the La Tene period
    2 / Ancient written sources and their importance for the study of the La Tene period. The origin of the Celts, their expansion and rozsídlení in Europe

    4 / The origins of Celtic settlement in the first half of the 4th century - housing , settlement , burial, material culture
    5 / Celtic settlement at the time of flat cemeteries in the 4th - 2nd century - housing, burial , material culture
    Celtic settlement in the late La Tene, settlement, oppidum, shrines, material culture
    7 / Evolution form a Celtic village , area strongholds, the development of fortification techniques, crafts and agricultural production, trade
    8 / Celtic numismatics
    9 / Economics, social organization and spiritual life of the ancient Celts. Celtic art
    10 / Penetration of foreign influences on our territory. Contacts with Western Europe and the Carpathian Basin. Contact with Republican Rome, Roman Imports - influence of the ancient world in Central Europe in the last centuries of the old era
