- Course objectives
- The course contains basic topics in the field of functional and formal morphology. The mutual conditionality of linguistic phenomena is emphasized (relation to phonetics and phonology, syntax, to textological disciplines). Knowledge is derived and practiced through current written and spoken texts. The work includes work with ČNK. The aim of the course is to equip students with basic knowledge of morphology so that they are able to describe, assess and possibly modify words and word forms in the interest of the type of text.
- Learning outcomes
- The student will be able to orientate in basic morphological terms, understand their content and meaning in the description of the linguistic system. The student will be able to understand the functional properties of words and word forms as a means of comprehensible and accurate written and spoken communication. The basic concepts are based on the areas that form the syllabus (see below).

- 1. Morphology in the system of linguistic disciplines, basic concepts; 2. Word form, morphological word; 3. Higher order grammatical categories (word types, word-species transpositions); 4. Lower order grammatical categories (nouns); 5. Lower order grammatical categories (verbal); 6. The word and its formation; 7. Nouns; 8. Adjectives; 9. Pronomina; 10. Numeralia; 11. Verba; 12. Adverbs; 13. Word types not independent
