Course objectives
The course is conceived as the completion of the study of linguistic subjects at the bachelor's level of the field of study. Emphasis is placed on the system characteristics of texts, the relationship between the function of the text and the means of expression used is monitored. In addition to the procedures of Czech functional stylistics, the procedures that are based on newer communication theories are also listed. The aim of the course is to provide a comprehensive overview of spoken and written texts in human activities (including electronic texts) and to deepen students' ability to create texts with a predefined function.
Learning outcomes
The student will be able - assess the written and spoken text with regard to its current function in communication; - apply knowledge from all linguistic disciplines in the assessment; - to include in the analysis knowledge from   psycholinguistics, sociolinguistics; - write a formally and content-flawless professional text He will know the developmental milestones in the development of Czech stylistics as a linguistic discipline.
