- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is to get acquainted with the problems of the region in relation to literature, regionalism as a cultural-social and literary-artistic movement, with the development and current form of regional literature from the end of the 19th century to the period after 1945.
- Learning outcomes
- After completing the course, the student will be able to: - define the concept of regional literature - characterize the main changes and periods of regional literature - describe the main persons and works of regional literature.
- Syllabus
- 1. Introduction - terminology, definitions. Regional literature. 2. Regionalism and regionalization - development of the concept. 3. Region, regionalism and regionalization in the development perspective. 4. Region and regionalism at the end of the 20th century and on the threshold of the new millennium. 5. Central concepts of regional policy of the European Union. 6. Problems of regionalism in Czech and Slovak literary science. 7. Regionalism as a conception of the world and its reflection in literature. 8. On the manifestations of modern regionalism in literature. 9. Literature for youth related to the region. 10. The relationship between the center - the periphery, local and global in literary science. 11. Literature in Moravia and Silesia, its place in national literature. 12. On the literary development in northern Moravia and Silesia after 1945, the main representatives and works. 13. Conclusion on the issue of the region, regionalism and regional literature.
