Prerequisites
Knowledge of the library system in the Czech Republic and around the world, knowledge of the basic legislation relating to information institutions is a prerequisite for registration.

Course objectives
The course aims to introduce students to the basic principles of creating and applying information policy in developed Western countries democracies and in the Czech Republic. Get acquainted with the information policy of the European Union and a basic overview of the Czech legislative framework state information policy and its foreign equivalents. Furthermore, point out the national policy of supporting science and research. To present library and information associations, their role in the formation of information policy and the issue of lobbying.
