- Course objectives
- The lecture offers an overview of basic linguistic terms and definitions. It is based on the concept of language as a system of signs and describes the various levels of the language system: phonetics and phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics and lexicology and textual linguistics. Attention is also paid to the classification of languages with a focus on the specifics of Germanic languages.
- Learning outcomes
- The student will know the basic linguistic terms and definitions. He will be able to classify languages with a focus on the specifics of Germanic languages.
