Course objectives
More detailed understanding of the economy, political development, social structure, religion and culture of the ancient Oriental fertile crescent states (Egypt, Assyria, Babylonia, Phoenicia, Hethits, Israel, Persians).
Learning outcomes
The student understands the differences between the Eastern Mediterranean states and the classical ancient states; he knows the common patterns of development of the fertile crescent states and the development differences between them; he understands the importance of the development of this region for the history of Europe; he is oriented in the history and culture of individual states.
