The workshop focuses on topics aimed at the formation of cultural and national identities based on history, language, religion in a cultural-historical perspective. These themes are still relevant in contemporary societies and are used and abused in politics and social media.
The analysis, discussion and understanding of selected topics and issues is suitable for students in the humanities and philosophy departments.
Participants will learn about historical, and still current, challenges such as cultural differences, cultural patterns, enculturation, ambiguity, linguistic nuances, and the transmission of emotion and information. Participants will have the opportunity to explore and compare historical themes and practical examples and discuss their own experiences. As part of their independent work, they will be given assignments that will allow them to practically apply the knowledge they have gained. The aim is not only to provide information, but more importantly to develop critical thinking skills in a historical and contemporary context.
