- Prerequisites
- Students have to give an oral presentation in teaching. The exact topic is their individual choice. The second requirement is to write a final test sucessfully. If there is a well-founded reason, a student can write an essay instead of the oral presentation.

- Course objectives
- Construction and appearance of buildings are inextricably linked. For the preservation of historic architecture is essential to understand the structures, ie how and why you built. The aim of the course materials and construction is to introduce students to the basics of structural design of buildings of historic and commonly used materials in terms of conservation. Attention is given to the constructions and materials of historic buildings and also to their restoration.

3. Parts of the building
4. Walls, masonry, mortar
5. Surface finishing
6. Facade, facade types, surface finishing of the facades, used materials and technologies,
restauration of the facades
7. Ceiling construction and their restoration
8. Roofs, trusses, roofing, architectural elements roofs and their restoration
9. Doors and windows and their restoration
10. Stone construction and their surface finishing
11. Floors and tiles
12. Principles of the protection of the architectural heritage
13. Importance of materials and technology
