Kurz je dvousemestrální. Podle úrovně znalostí studentů bude zvolena jedna z výše uvedených učebnic. Kurz je zaměřen na paralelní rozvoj obecného a odborného jazyka. Jde o osvojení slovní zásoby, příslušné gramatiky a jejich aplikaci v běžném konverzačním kontextu. Studenti musí umět reagovat na základní otázky každodenního života, základem je rozšíření komunikativní schopnosti. Součástí kurzu je i četba odborných textů týkajících se studijní náplně studentů.
