Course objectives
The aim of the course is to inform the students of the importance of guiding, the characteristics of a tour guide's personality, the development of guiding and of the requirements on a guide's performance. The students will get acquainted with the methodology of a tour guide's preparation, performance and commentary as well as the agenda before, during and after a trip depending on the type of transport or the type of tourism. The aim of the course is to prepare the students from the point of view of theory as well as from the point of view of practice for the role of a tour guide in tourism. Contents: 1. The characteristics of guiding services 2. Types of guiding 3. Personality of a guide 4. Preparation of a tour guide for a tour (stay) 5. Duties and tasks of a tour guide during a tour (stay) 6. Duties and tasks of a tour guide after a tour (stay) 7. Applying the knowledge of psychology in a tour guide performance
